One of the best parts of being a photographer is being invited into some of the most incredible and meaningful parts of a family’s life. In this case not only did I get to photograph Stephanie and Ben’s first baby, but I was also the assistant photographer at their wedding. I’ve known Stephanie for a few years now through her wedding planning company Saving the Day Events, and let me tell you, her wedding was something else! Every detail was perfect and I am still talking about the flaming doughnut bar they had! If you want to check it out (and you should!), you can click here to get to the blog post on Harmony Lynn Photography’s website.
When Stephanie first reached out to hire me as her newborn photographer, she hadn’t decided on a nursery theme, and we went back and forth on messenger for hours looking at different themes and ideas. At one point I thought I had her sold on a space inspired room (the rocket lamp and solar system mobile we saw were SO cute!), but once she thought of a Toy Story theme, she knew it was the perfect fit. Stephanie and Ben are huge Toy Story fans and she did an amazing job decorating Chip’s nursery.
Planning the Toy Story inspired images for his session was so much fun and I absolutely love the way they turned out! All the toys were borrowed from Chip’s nursery which made the session even more special.
If you checked out the link to their wedding blog, you know Ben is a HUGE Orlando Magic fan. When I first heard Stephanie was surprising Ben with Stuff the Magic Dragon at their wedding, I really had no idea what to expect, but it was SO much fun! I imagine Chip is going to grow up to be just as big of a fan as his daddy, so we had to make sure to plan some basketball inspired images for them as well. Stephanie brought in the little ball and net set which is too cute.
And like always, I like to capture some more classic non-themed images too. Zippy the monkey is Ben’s childhood stuffed animal, and a very important part of their family, so we had to make sure to get him in as well.
It’s always fun getting to work with people you know, and this beautiful mama was no exception.
