I am excited to share I am now offering cake smash sessions at the studio! I wasn’t sure it would really be my thing, but I have to say I absolutely loving documenting my clients grow!
You might remember this little guy from his newborn session. You can check it out HERE if you missed it. Seriously can you believe how much he’s grown??? Eli’s mom Adrienne and I didn’t know each other before his first session and have become really good friends since. So she was the perfect person to test the proverbial waters with this adorable fishing themed cake smash (did you catch my little play on words there? Lol!) to make sure I liked cake smash sessions before I started offering them.
Like me, Adrienne loves throwing over the top theme parties, which worked out PERFECTLY for me since I was able to borrow a few of Eli’s birthday party decorations for the session. How cute is this??? The cake is from a new bakery right down the street from my studio, Just Cupcakin’ Around. I can’t vouch for the taste of Eli’s cake, but the peanut butter cupcake Adrienne brought me was to die for, so I’m sure the cake was delicious too. Eli certainly looked like he enjoyed it.
I’d be lying if I said I was completely confident these pictures were going to come out as cute as they did. Adrienne assured me when we talked beforehand that Eli had eaten cake before, likes it, and would be excited about his cake. Except that wasn’t exactly the case. Luckily his mom and I are pretty patient and persistent, and eventually Eli caved in and wowed us with his cuteness.
Unfortunately poor guy was sick and his party this past weekend had to be rescheduled. But it did work out for me, since I was at the Florida Professional Photographer’s annual convention and wouldn’t have been able to go, but now I’ll be able to! Yay! Happy 1st birthday Eli!
