I left my career in real estate in order to move to Florida almost 8 years ago, and at the time, the economy was horrible. We didn’t know anyone and I spent pretty much all my time alone while my husband was working. I was desperate for a job (actually I was just desperate for someone to talk to!), and even at Christmas time, I couldn’t even find a job in retail. So I was incredibly thankful when one of the owner’s of Fishlip’s Waterfront Bar & Grill offered me a job working at his restaurant. It’s weird to think how different things would be for us if I hadn’t been offered that job, being so many of our friends and social activities still revolve around Fishlip’s. I definitely would have never imagined back then that I would one day be photographing the owner’s gorgeous daughter Michaela while she was waiting for the arrival of her first child. But sure enough, that’s what happened and I’m so honored to be part of this incredible time in her life. She is sweet, smart, hard working and will be such a great mom!
I can’t lie, when I did my initial consultation with Michaela and she mentioned wanting to incorporate flannel and camo into her sessions, I was a little (a lot) nervous about how I was going to pull it off and still have it fit my style. But then I found the CUTEST deer knit set and now I seriously could not be more excited about her newborn session!
I love that Michaela will be using one of her images from this maternity session as a signature board at her upcoming baby shower! It means everything to me to have my clients using and cherishing the images I create for them.
I almost forgot the best part! Baby Camden is due…ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! He has no idea how happy it would make me if his mom sticks to her due date!
(Unlike my friend Kara. Not that I’m bitter or anything. It’s only been almost 6 years. LOL!)
Stay tuned for a woodland inspired newborn session coming in November!
